Ahmedabad: Police Sola City on Sunday arrested three men for allegedly deceiving people after calling them through the Gay dating application.
Police officers investigated the case saying that at least 20 people were deceived by Rs 15 lakh by the defendant.
The police took the action after two complainants approached them allegating that they were sent off and cheated by RS 1 Lakh each after being called in a remote place in the Sola City area last week.
In the first incident, Hitesh Vadher, a 40-year-old tailor from Chanakyapuri, said in the Fir it was submitted on Saturday that he was downloading a gay dating application and used to talk to several male friends randomly.
On February 8, Vadher got a request for friendship from a man named Ravi Patel on the application he received and shared his cellphone number.
After a while, Ravi Patel called him and asked him to meet near Sola Bhagwat in the Sola area that night.
Vadher went to meet Patel on February 8 night.
At that time, three men rushed there and asked Vadher about what he did there and began to abuse it.
The three men took Vadher to a remote place where they struggled and transferred Rs 1 lakh from their telephone through UPI payment.
In the same incident, Khodidas Patel, 42, a resident of Gota, also downloaded the Gay dating application and got a request from one Ravi Patel.
Patel called him and asked to meet near Sola Bhagwat where three men rushed, thrashed Khodidas Patel and then forcibly took Rs 1 lakh from him.
After the two complainants approached the police, the police based on technical supervision located three out of four were accused and arrested them.
The defendant was identified Shivam Patel, a resident of Sarkhej, Chintan Dholakia, 22, a resident of Changodar and Mukund Prajapati, 21, a resident of Bavla, who claimed to cheat at least 20 people from the city.
