Ahmedabad: Trash away, welcome to Bopal Eco Park!

Ahmedabad: There is a new ecological park in Bopal! The illegal landfill site which was once a stack of nausea of rubbish on Jalan GEB has now turned into a place of solitude and calm.
There are times when someone sees wild dogs, livestock, and even mice chew with garbage thrown by the population.
There are almost 3 lakh tons of inheritance waste lying in the trash.
Back in 2016, Bopal Nagarpalika has assured that it will make provisions to take waste to the pirana and clean up the pile of garbage, but not much achieved.
But at the beginning of 2020, a project floated to change the 22,000 square meter room into an ecological park as soon as Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation took over Bopal-Ghuma Nagarpalika.
The 3.5 Crore RS project involves putting a new layer of land to withstand moisture and binding plant roots.
“The black soil layer is added to make it more fertile.
This process costs AMC around Rs 75 lakh.
Lighting and plantation will cost another Rs 1 Crore.
This park also has a small pool to attract birds that migrate,” said a senior official AMC.
AMC has installed a bio-mining machine that can process 1,000 tons of waste in the eight-hour shift on the site.
Officials claim that works like the construction of compound walls and put drainage lines and storm water takes maximum time.
