Nashik: Commissioner Divisional Game Radhakrishna on Thursday said the team investigated the recent fire tragedy in Ahmednagar’s civil hospital will submit a report to the earliest state government.
The fire broke out in the hospital intensive care unit on November 6, killing 11 Covid-19 patients and injuring six.
As part of the inquiry, the game and other panel members checked the ICU on Thursday night and talked to the hospital staff, including a civil surgeon who was now suspended by Dr.
Sunil Pokharna.
The game told Ti that the panel had taken the initial report from the Department of Public Works, Fire Brigades and Ahmednagar Municipal Corporation about various aspects related to hospitals.
“We have sent a questionnaire to Pokharna, who filled it and returned it.
We have sent him a set of new questions and is waiting for the answer.
We will also talk to witnesses,” added the game.
OPD and IPD services in more than 500 private hospitals and nursing homes in Ahmednagar remained closed on Thursday as a sign of protests against the arrest of doctors and three nurses in a civil hospital.
