AICA called for an attack on the increase in protest prices

Coimbatore: The All Indian Association Board (AICA) has called for the closure of the industry throughout the country on December 20, protesting the increase in prices of various raw materials.
AICA, umbrella organization 170 MSME association, has asked the authorities to reduce the price of raw materials to the price level April 2020.
The association also looks for the maximum retail price for all raw materials.
In a statement released on Monday, AICA also called for a peaceful demonstration of one hour in front of the district judge’s office to suppress the intervention Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this issue.
“Prices of raw materials continue to rise for unknown reasons, impact on the production of MSMEs” said the President of the Small Industry Association of Coimbatore District (Codesia) M v Ramesh Babu in the statement.
AICA has sent a lot of representation to the Prime Minister and various Union ministers with requests to control the price of raw materials, he said.
AICA members said that aluminum costs have increased by 154% in the past 18 months.
While copper prices increased 118%, the price of mild steel plate saw an increase of 82% over the same period.
Members urge the government to ask all public sectors and registered to revisit and renegotiate steel orders placed with MSMEs, given the price revised on the market, and changing orders.
The company must receive cancellation of orders by MSMEs without a penalty or black, said a member.
The government must allow import of all steel material based on cost and quality requirements without imposing import duties, they said.
