Agra: In the first serious case of violence related to the polling above, Ramveer Singh, a BJP worker and the Aide of the Cabinet and Candidates from the Constituency of Chhata Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, was shot dead in Mathura by three attackers borne by a bicycle on Saturday.
The attack took place when he was on his way to do ‘Parikrama’ after offering prayers at Shani Dev Temple in Kokilavan in Kosimala.
Two people followed Singh while the third was waiting for a bicycle to escape, a police officer said.
A nervous resident held a protest and blocked the National Highway Agra-Delhi, demanding that the defendant be identified and arrested.
