PATNA: In a time when authorities in several districts are now finding it tough to conduct ventilators because of absence of technicians, Aurangabad DM Saurabh Jorawal has set an example by means of practice of physicians and paramedics of sadar hospital in order they can run the machinery and save a lot of Covid patients. Because of the DM’s initiative, a professional group of five physicians of AIIMS-Delhi’s injury facility led by Dr Sanjeev Bhoi maintained several digital sessions with all the physicians and paramedics of Aurangabad sadar hospital and also trained them to conduct ventilators that the hospital had obtained underneath the PM Cares Fund. Length of seven crucial Covid patients undergoing therapy in the hospital have been spared after the operationalisation of this ventilators. The Aurangabad district management also has transformed two industrial oxygen production plants in Barun into crops generating oxygen. Jorawal stated four ventilators were still lying unused in the ICU of sadar hospital for many months. “The ICU was completely outfitted, but lying for the past four decades because of absence of technicians. When the next Covid wave started, we organized virtual training for physicians, service team, ANMs and GNMs. They had been educated by AIIMS-Delhi specialists to conduct ventilators. Because of the state authorities, engineers arrived into the hospital and created the ICU operational on May 10,” that the DM added. He also said the district government ensured accessibility to necessary drugs in the ICU for its treatment of Covid patients. “three personal physicians aided the district government and tracked Covid patients acknowledged in government agencies,” that the DM added.
