New Delhi: The All Indian Medical Institute (AIIMS) has started the same day’s ultrasound facility for serious OPD patients.
Radio diagnosis and Interventional Radiology Department AIIMS have started trial for OPD patients.
Films and reports will be issued for patients on the same day.
“As part of our efforts to improve patient care, the Department of Diagnosis-Radio and Interventional Radiology Start the same day Ultrasound Facility with the Basic Experiment for OPD patients who need.
Films and reports will be issued on the same day,” AIIM said in a statement on a statement Saturday.
At the initial level, a total of 35 slots have been set for ultrasonography on the same day in the new OPD rack area to meet patients with appropriate clinical conditions.
However, the same day report will be given to those whose ultrasonography examination is needed immediately to decide on clinical management.
Patients who are senior citizens, disabled or suffering from serious illness will also be given preference.
According to the notification issued by AIIMS, the request form must be signed by faculty members who confirm the urgency of clinical indications for the same day ultrasound.
The request form must be presented at the appointment counter before 13:00 no later than the same day ultrasonography.
However, the same facilities will not be available for ultrasound scanning that requires patient preparation such as fasting overnight, the scanning of Ultrasound Doppler, which is examined and interpretation that takes longer, and ultrasonic midwifery scanning.
Because the number of slots for ultrasonography the same day is limited to a maximum of 35, the administration has requested a wise use of this facility.
AIIMS recently installed ‘smart lab’ which has the capacity to do more than two lakh tests in one day.
The Institute also extends the time to collect samples for various tests.
