Prasagraj: Aimim has deployed the Don Mafia and ex-wife Atiq Ahmed Shaista Parveen from the West Allahabad assembly chair from Prayagraj, Report Rajeev Mani.
The chair has been considered an Atiq camp.
Although the nomination has not been officially announced by the party, Aimim division spokesman Afsar Mehmood has confirmed to the Toi that he will become a party candidate from elections.
Atiq has won the assembly poll from Allahabad West several times in the past, including in 1989, 1991 and 1993 as an independent candidate and in 1996 as a candidate SP while in 2002 he pocketed a seat on the ticket of Apna Dal.
The chair is currently represented by the Cabinet Minister Sidharth Nath Singh.
Party leaders also claim that Aimim May Field Atiq from Kanpur Cantonment this time.
