New Delhi: Aim to revive the glory of Scenic Jammu and Kashmir as the top location for filmmaking, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched the 2021 film J & K policy on Thursday, which marked the second anniversary of Article 370 and 35 (A).
Film policy, which will have a five-year initial validity, will offer a one-window permit to filmmakers to take pictures and produce their business.
It will offer a number of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives for mainstream filmmakers and documentary films from around the world, including those who work on the OTT platform and TV.
The J & K film policy proposes to make one online window portal where filmmakers can apply for all permits.
A Film Development Board J & K (JKFDC) will be arranged, with its chair as a single window head.
The JKFDC Chair will have the authority to provide / reject the online application done through a single window portal in two-four weeks.
The portal will have a directory of the shooting location, a list of beautiful places in J & K; Directory of local talent with a list of local artistes and film crew members; and directory of film production equipment.
Among the fiscal incentives offered to filmmakers are subsidies for films with patriotic shots and other themes at J & K; photograph the first, second and third film; Films produced by award-winning filmmakers; Besides TV shows, web series and OTT documentaries.
If a filmmaker provides employment opportunities to local J & K artists, additional subsidies until the 50 lakh Hospital will be given to him.
Among non-fiscal incentives is permission to use airstrips and air resources to be determined by JKFDC.
The J & K government will also facilitate the creation of the infrastructure needed to make films in private mode and joint venture, such as studios and processing laboratories until a fully active film city appears in UT.
Security settings for shooting must be made for free.
The permission to shoot will cover police licenses and Nodal security officers from the police must facilitate shooting in security & police issues.
The J & K government will also encourage and provide incentives to the owner to reopen the cinema room closed in UT and modernize existing.
In addition, there will be incentives to owners of the Cinema Hall which will be regulated by the Terms of Industrial Policy J & K 2021.
