PATIALA: All Indian Power Engineers Federation (AKPAF) in a letter to the Minister of Punjab and the Minister of Finance Punjab urged to release payments that are delayed due to the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) for ignoring domestic consumer arrears, increasing power subsidies.
Because of the benefits given to domestic and industrial consumers.
VK spokesman Gupta Aboverfe said that the PSPCL financial condition continued to deteriorate because non-payment by the Punjab government and the stage could reach where the payment of employee salaries could be under the question mark.
Corrective action must be taken by the Punjab government urgently.
Orders PSERC rates for books 2021-22 worked on total subsidies of RS 17,796 Crore including arrears of the previous year and clearly mentioned that Payment of Rs 1386.33 Crore for April and May and Rs 1502.36 Crores per month from June to March 2022 must be made every month in advance.
Now PSPCL in the ARR for the next financial year has submitted an estimated subsidy payment that was revised for the year 2021-22 of Rs 12,245 Crore.
On this basis, the total number of subsidies paid to PSPCL became Rs 19,420 Crore and the government had paid Rs 9,395 Crore until December 15 this year.
After the problem of order rates for 2021-22, if the state government provides additional subsidies to any consumer category then it is an obligation for the government to submit a petition before PSIC for changes in tariffs.
The practice of the current Punjab government and PSPCL to bypass PSERC opposed Section 65 of the 2003 Electricity Law and therefore the illegal government of the Punjab has reduced the allegations of MS 50% consumers from RS.
3.00 per unit includes excise duties for domestic consumers with loads of up to 7KW, and 300 free units per month for the successor of freedom fighters and releasing domestic consumer arrears with loads up to 2KW.
The total benefit for the current financial year is Rs 2,759 Crores.
Electricity bills of RS 2,000 Crore against the government department are also delayed.
The total balance number paid to PSPCL in this financial year exits around RS 13,160 Crore.
