Mumbai: Indian aircraft maintenance technicians, employees who are on a fixed-term contract with national carrier, have threatened to break on January 17 in a long-delayed problem such as work contract renewal, salary revisions and like.
Among the work handled by aircraft maintenance technicians triggered a plane and prepared departure, marshaling, maintenance work etc.
“Most of us get a minimum wage of Rs 25,000 and although airlines include our salary also for cutting in economic steps.
Since May 2020, the number of Rs 1100 is being deducted from our salary.
We have demanded a replacement,” said a technician, “said a technician Request anonymity.
He added that around 1,700 of them in India would choose the agitation of “tool down” a week from now.
On Monday, a letter that includes their requests sent to CEO of Air India Engineering Services Ltd (AIESL), a subsidiary of airline engineering.
The technician consists of around 50% of AIESL staff, Indian air source said.
“Many of us have completed five years with Air India and our contract will appear for updates.
The airline management was silent at our delayed request,” added technicians.
