NEW DELHI: Union civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday reported that the disinvestment process of Air India is becoming postponed as a result of next wave of this Covid pandemic and ensured the disinvestment process will take place within this season.
“Air India is becoming disinvested.
It takes some time because of this pandemic.
I need to guarantee you that it (AI Disinvestment) will occur within this calendar year,” that the Union ministry informed ANI.
The next wave of Covid-19 could slow down disinvestment procedure but he’s promised the disinvestment of Air India is going to be finished in 2021.
Before on March 27, 2021, Puri had stated that Air India will be brought below a private participant in late May or even June.
“In a meeting, it had been determined that the authorities will shut the fiscal bids over 64 days,” Puri informed ANI because of this continuing Covid-19 pandemic, lien are not able to go for bodily meetings and a significant formality that might need to be achieved prior to AI privatised.
“Air India remains at the debt of Rs 60,000 crore and it is apt to be offered,” the minister stated before.
