NEW DELHI: Air India has sacked on of its cabin crew who was allegedly found to be in possession of two gold bars during checks at London Heathrow this Tuesday just before he was to operate a flight to Delhi.
This happened when the person was rostered to be on AI 162 to Delhi.
“…you were detained by customs officials at Heathrow Airport for allegedly smuggling two gold bars on departure via flight AI 162 of June 8, 2021…your contract stands terminated with immediate effect,” his sacking letter says.
The person was appointed as Delhi-base cabin crew on fixed term contract in December 2010.
