Hyderabad: About 10 percent of all eye problems reported in Hyderabad related to air pollution, especially the high presence of material particles and annoying gas in the city’s atmosphere, revealing research studies conducted by LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad.
According to research, the most common eye complaints related to atmospheric pollution are allergic eye diseases (AED), which are reported by one of every 10 people who visit eye doctors.
The researchers have found “correlations between meteorological parameters such as the temperature of the environment, rainfall, moisture, wind speed and pollution with temporal patterns of presentation of the recent ONSET allergy eye disease (AED)”.
The researchers said their findings showed that there was a “clear pattern of certain environmental factors with the AED temporal pattern in the population of Hyderabad Regency, with the prevalence of peaks seen in May and the lowest seen in August and rainfall.
Contributing to the prevalence of lower AED cases During the year, while the increase in temperature and ozone on the ground surface instead contributed to the prevalence of higher AED cases, “they said.
The research team consists of Anthony Vipin Das and Sayan Basu.
The results of the study were published in scientific journals, international journals of environmental research and public health.
“Increasing rainfall and moisture is associated with lower prevalence, and the increase in temperature and the basic level ozone is associated with a higher prevalence of AED cases during this year among children and adolescents.
The highest prevalence was seen in May with 6.09.% And The lowest was seen in August with 2.12%.
Rainfall weather parameters, temperature, humidity, wind speed, and PM10 pollution parameters, PM2.5, carbonmonoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and ozone are rated every month “this study added.
Also, there is a positive correlation with the distribution of material particles and a wise prevalence of the Onset recently AED.
