Air Pollution: How to Key Hold Color Code for Enforcement

New Delhi: With the national capital faced by air emergencies, the Department of Transportation of the Delhi government made an awareness drive about the installation of color-coded fuel stickers in the car.
The department also comes out with its plans for the empanel kit manufacturer retrofitment to convert diesel vehicles and 10-year gasoline to electricity.
The source says that the goal is to merek vehicle owners about the need to get the earliest color-coded fuel stickers, but the enforcement drive will not start at this time.
Department on Friday issued public notifications stating that the installation of chromium-based hologram stickers must match the Supreme Court order on August 13, 2018.
Diesel-run vehicles need to have orange fuel stickers on windshields and gasoline and vehicles need to have light blue stickers , which helps identify fuel used in vehicles from distance during drive enforcement related pollution.
Vehicles registered from October 2, 2018 come pasted with color-coded fuel stickers at registration.
Officials said that even though the vehicles registered in the last three years had this sticker, not many registered vehicle owners before this advanced to get this was affixed.
The vehicle owner can get this fuel sticker to be attached to the windshield by approaching the dealer of their vehicles.
According to the modified MV law, vehicles without stickers can be fined Rs 10,000, which have been added to Rs 5,500.
However, the source said the department did not plan to start a special enforcement drive against vehicles without fuel stickers immediately.
Officials say that the purpose behind the notification is to create a sense of urgency because there is an undue delay by vehicle owners to get fuel stickers even though there is a command of the Supreme Court three years ago.
In a movement that will help reduce vehicle pollution and provide further encouragement to electric vehicles in the capital, the Delhi government on Friday issued a notification for empanelling manufacturers and supplier of approved electrical retrofitment kits.
This kit will be used to convert diesel vehicles and gasoline with conventional internal combustion machines (ICE) for pure electrical operations with retrofitment of approved pure electricity propulsion.
Manufacturers and suppliers of kits will provide information about make and vehicle models that can be installed by electric propulsion kits, along with the range in kilometers kit with one charging.
The ‘type of approval’ certificate received from the approved test agent must also be submitted by applicants who are looking for empanel.
Officials of the Senior Transportation Department said that this step will be very useful for more than 10 years of diesel-run vehicle owners and more than 15 years managed vehicles, which are not allowed to stab on the streets of Delhi.
This vehicle retrofitment will mean that the owner will be able to use this for longer periods instead of just selling this at a very low price or even a memo.
