New Delhi: Minister of Environment Delhi Gopal Rai said on Tuesday that the city government has asked the relevant department to prepare their action plan on September 21 based on the “winter action plan” National capital will be made to overcome air pollution.
The development department will prepare an action plan for stump management in Delhi.
Three McD, Cantonment Board, NDMC, DDA and all other government construction institutions must prepare an action plan to control dust emissions, Rai said.
These departments were also asked to squeeze their officers on the ground.
MCD has been asked to come up with an action plan to control the burning of waste and monitor pollution hotspots, he said.
The Department of Transportation has been asked to popularize electric vehicle policies.
Traffic police will prepare a plan to handle congestion, the Minister said.
The Department of Environment will build communication channels with neighboring countries and coordination centers about matters related to pollution.
Officials from City Companies, Delhi Polution Control Committee, Department of Environment, Delhi Development Authority, Bal Jal Delhi, Delhi Traffic Police, Department of Public Works, Department of Transportation, National Highway Authority of India, and the Central Public Works Department participated in the meeting.
“These departments have been asked to prepare their action plans based on the ‘winter action plan’ to be made,” Rai said.
As part of the plan, the city government will increase the “Green War Room” which was launched last year to monitor and coordinate anti-pollution efforts and update the application “Green Delhi” to effectively overcome complaints related to the activity of pollution.
