Ghaziabad / Noida: Residents wake up to another day that run away because the level of air quality remains in the ‘poor’ category in Ghaziabad, Greater Noida and Noida for the second day in a row.
While the air quality index (AQI) deteriorated in Ghaziabad and Greater Noida compared to Monday, Noida saw a marginal increase.
With wind which is likely to slow down from Wednesday, air quality can return to the ‘very poor’ category for the next few days, said weather forecasting.
According to the data on the Central Pollution Control Agency (CPCB), Ghaziabad recorded AQI 268 on Tuesday which was 254 the day before, while Aqi Greater Noida slipped to 255 points compared to 202 which was recorded on Monday.
The Noida air quality index stands on 252 on that day against 270 recorded day back, data shows.
Three pollution monitoring stations in Ghaziabad noted AQI in the ‘Poor’ category Vasundhara registered AQI 253, Indirapuram 250, and Sanjay Nagar 284.
However, Loni’s unit was aqi overall 302, which was under ‘very poor’.

At Greater Noida’s Park-3 knowledge station, the whole AQI was recorded at 246, while Park-5 knowledge was registered with AQI 278.
In Noida, Sector Station 62 recorded the worst AQI in the area of 306, which was under ‘very bad category.
It was followed by the sector 116 units that saw AQI 252, while sector 1 and 125 units recorded AQIS 236 and 230.
According to air quality systems and weather forecasting and research (Safar), the overall air quality of the region could deteriorate again on Wednesday because Wind at the level of transportation tends to slow down and change direction.
Local surface winds, said the weather forecasters said, it would also remain slow for the next three days that would reduce dispersion of pollutants.
From November 27, local surface winds are likely to increase again.
