Gurgaon: In the past week, the air quality index (AQI) recorded at the ‘satisfying’ level for six days, while on Monday the air quality is dipped to a ‘moderate’ level, with AQI recorded at 118.
However, on Tuesday, the level Aqi was once again recorded as satisfying with 76 readings on a scale.
Of the four air monitoring stations in the city, Sector 51 station recorded AQI at 101 (moderate), Teri Gram recorded AQI in 63 (satisfying), Sitch Vikas recorded AQI at 72 (satisfying).
Data is not available at GwalPahari Station.
The Indian Meteorology Department said that good wind speed on Tuesday helped spread pollutants.
The city witnessed the surface wind between 41-61 kmpj and also received 1mm rain.
The city is expected to witness more rain in the coming days and AQI will remain at the ‘satisfying’ level, officials said.
Haryana state pollution control officers (HSPCB official) said that changes in wind speed and weather conditions were the main reason for improving air quality.
“The quality of air in the city is likely to remain at the ‘satisfying’ level in the coming days due to rain.
The current weather conditions lead to improving air quality,” said Kuldeep Singh, regional officers, HSPCB, Gurgaon.
