Air quality is likely to worsen this week

Pune: City Air Quality Index (AQI) is set to deteriorate until it is very poor on Friday and Saturday because the temperature drops in Pune.
Indian Tropical Meteorology Institute (IITM) – Air quality systems and weather and research estimates (Safar) have extinguished estimates for Diwali.
Track the level of pollution in your report, the report said that because Diwali fell in November this year when the conditions such as winter have been arranged, the projection of a scenario firecracker an additional 50% shows that Aqi Pune will deteriorate for ‘poor’ on November 4 and ‘very poor’ In the November 5.
Indian Meteorology Department has said there is a chance of light rain in Pune around Diwali who worsened the air quality, Gufran Beig, the Safar project project told TII.
“Only enough rain is believed to wash pollutants, while drizzle can worsen it,” he said.
If the rain is enough, the pollutants can clean and air quality can be a little better.
“When there is a drizzle during the cooling temperature, the rain is not enough to wash the pollutants hanging in the air.
There is an increase in moisture at times like that, causing water molecules to be suspended in the air.
Particulate deployment can remain dependent on this water molecule for a period of time Longer, “he said.
The forecast for air quality for the period of 2021 for Pune issued by the IITM is based on the framework of quality-safar-water forecasting developed unfairly.
This forecast is based on two model scenarios: additional firecrackers’ emissions to ‘nil’ and additional firecracker emissions to 50% of emissions 2019.
This projected emission is the addition of standard background emissions.
Because the current low temperature (minimum temperature is around 18-19˚C), the height of the atmospheric mixing layer is likely to be low.
The wind, most of the east wind, is expected to be calm, causing the accumulation of pollutants and therefore worsens the air quality around Diwali.
However, if there is no fire cracker burned (nill scenario) then AQI will remain in the moderate category during the entire period, the prediction said.
A recent IITM study in the international climate international journal has connected black carbon-rich particles to be very associated with the spread of Covid-19.
“Like paper, when pollution consists of black carbon particles, the SARS-COV-2 virus can support these particles and spread through them.
During firecracker burning, a lot of black carbon was emitted.
High carbon emissions high during diwali can thus cause concern for deployment Covid-19 virus, “added Beig.
