Patna: City air quality continues to remain in the “very bad” category for the third consecutive day on Thursday even though there is a mild drizzle.

The air quality index (AQI) level was recorded at 329 on Thursday, up from 316 on Wednesday, in accordance with the bulletin board control board center at 4 pm, which is the average of the last 24 hours.
Prominent pollutants such as PM10 (material particles less than 10 microns) are recorded at 300 and PM2.5 (material particles less than 2.5 microns) in 104 to 189, according to the data provided by the Bihar State Pollus Control Board (BSPCB).
Aqi between zero and 50 is considered “good”, 51 and 100 “satisfying”, 101 and 200 “moderate”, 201 and 300 “poor”, 301 and 400 “very poor” and 401 and 500 “severe”.
“Very bad” aqi basically means that people may suffer from respiratory diseases on long exposure to the air and may have a clearer effect on people with lung and heart disease.

Naveen Kumar, an environmental scientist and board analyst at BSPCB, said The level of pollution in the city has fallen due to solid fog and cold conditions.
