Bhubaneswar / Jharsuguda: All air passengers de-boarding in Bandu International Airport (BPIA) Bihubaneswar and at Veer Surendra Sai Airport (VSS) in Jharsuguda must undergo a RT-PCR test.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Jharsuguda District Administration has resulted in new guidelines for their respective airports considering a sudden increase in a positive case of Covid-19 in the state.
In an official order issued by BMC on Thursday stated that all air travelers rose in Bhubaneswar except those on the way had a RT-PCR test in civil facilities provided by the Civic Agency.
Air travelers who have been fully vaccinated or have a negative report RT-PCR must also be tested at BPIA at the testing facility, he added.
“The travelers whose purpose is that Bhubaneswar must isolate himself until the results are communicated to him by the Civic body.
The usual protocol for positive cases will be followed if a positive case is found from among the travelers,” read orders.
BMC will install RT-PCR testing facilities at BPIA.
The airport director will facilitate BMC in installing testing facilities and ensuring compliance with strict guidelines.
This order will take effect from Friday to further orders.
Similarly, Jharsuguda District Administration on Thursday issued guidelines for air travelers who came from New Delhi and Kolkata to VSS airport in Jharsuguda.
All passengers arriving from these cities will undergo compulsory RT-PCR tests after their arrival at Jharsuguda Airport.
Swabs of passengers will be collected on the site of arrival by the team deployed by the district administration.
“If passengers are tested positively, he must undergo a specified treatment protocol.
If the report is negative, the passengers will remain in the quarantine of the house for seven days and on the eighth day, their swabs will be collected again for the RT-PCR test,” the Order said.
In addition, the administrative district of Jharsuguda has also directed regional transportation officers (RTO), Jharsuguda to ensure that all taxis carrying this passenger will have a fixed separator between the driver and the former seat in the back seat.
