Airlift starts for Afghans who work for us during a long military campaign

WASHINGTON: Around 200 Afghanistan will start a new life in the United States on Friday when airlift is running for translators and other people who are at risk of reply Taliban because they work for the US government during the 20-year war in Afghanistan, US officials said.
Operation to evacuate Afghanistan and family members affiliated with the US came when the pull of US troops was approaching the settlement and government forces struggled to turn the progress of the Taliban.
The first planeload of around 200 refugees is expected to be shown to Fort Lee, US military bases in Virginia, for processing of final documents and medical examinations.
Afghanistan who works for the United States is given a special immigrant visa (SIV) who has the right to bring their families.
As many as 50,000 or more people can eventually be evacuated in “Operation Ales Refuge.” The first group is among several 2,500 applicants and family members who almost completed the process, cleaning them for evacuation, Russ travelers, representatives of Homeland security advisers President Joe Biden.
Afghanistan is expected to remain in Fort Lee for seven days before joining relatives or host families throughout the country.
Evakuees underwent a “strict background check” and Covid-19 test, the addition of tourists.
Some have been vaccinated, and the rest will be offered Jab at Fort Lee.
Violence surging in Afghanistan has created a serious problem for many SIV applicants whose documents are on the pipeline in the middle of the report – rejected by the Taliban – that some have been killed by deep rebels.
Some applicants cannot enter Kabul’s capital to complete the steps needed at the US Embassy or reach their flight.
“We don’t have the capacity to bring people to Kabul from other parts of the country or to accommodate them in Kabul,” Tracey Jacobson, Coordinator of the State Department of Operations, told reporters.
The SIV program has been disturbed by old processing time and bureaucratic knots – used Biden administration and Congress to cancel – which leads to deposits of around 20,000 applications.
The State Department has added staff to handle it.
“The US has 20 years to anticipate what the withdrawal is,” said Adam Bates, policy advice for the International Refugee Help Project, which provided legal assistance to refugees.
“We can’t be given him.” Kim Safitorius, Co-founder of the Allied Wartime Association, who helped SIV applicants, said the survey that had been done by Facebook showed that about half of SIV applicants could not reach Kabul, including many agreed to evacuate.
Congress created a SIV program in 2006 for Iraq and Afghan translators who risk retaliation to work for the US government.
