Airport line: 5 companies submit bids

Bangalore International Airport Limited to build two metro stations close to the airport
Five construction companies submit their bids for construction work for the metro line 37 kilometers.
This metro line will run between Kempegowda International Airport and Kr Puram.
Only three of the company’s offer for its first package.
The third package, which includes fewer high stations and is easier to do, receives a better response with five companies participating in the offer.
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) can take several months to complete the technical evaluation of these companies before reviewing offers to identify the lowest bidder.

From these companies, some form joint ventures (JV) to participate in offers.
The company includes, Shankara Narayana Constructions (SNC), Construction Company Cherian Varkey (CVCC), Infra and Gululmak GR Project.
Infrastructure AFCONS, NCC Limited and SNC-CVCC (JV) have submitted their bids for the three packages.
Indian ITD’s sentinations only participate in one package.
The lowest bidder in each package will be given between 24 and 27 months to complete the work.
The first package (stretch of 11 kilometers) involves the construction of most stations and links to 650 meters to Baiyappanahalli.
This work is estimated to cost Rs 639.95 Crore.
This package includes eight stations: Kasturi Nagar, Horamavu, Hrbr layout, Kalyan Nagar, HBR layout, Nagawara, Veerannapalya and Kempapon.

The second package (stretch of 11.67 kilometers) will be an elevated corridor with five stations.
The station includes: Hebbal, Kodigehalli, Jakkur Cross, Yelahanka and Bagalur Cross, including a 250-meter pocket path.
This project is estimated to cost RS 645.30 Crore.
The third package (stretch of 15 kilometers) is estimated to cost Rs 620.88 Crore.
The contractor believes that there are two reasons that the third package receives a better response from the bidder.
One is that the part is elevated closer to the airport.
The second is that stretching only includes two metro stations that are elevated (Bettahalasaru and Dodajala) and stretch 718 meters to be cut and covered in front of the Yelakeka Air Force station, which is not as complicated by underground work.
The planned distance between the two stations should be less than 1.5 kilometers along the outer ring road.
However, it can be increased anywhere between 2 and 4 kilometers after the stretch of elevated to the Hebbban towards the national highway that rises to the airport.
This is done to cut costs by not building additional stations in areas that have not seen many developments.
It is based that these two stations will be built by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL).
Can be remembered that the bid submission date has been postponed at least nine times over the past year because BMRCL has not received approval for Phase II A and B projects from the trade union government.
Bid for civil work was invited last year, in July.
