New Delhi International Airport Noida forthcoming (NIA) will be associated with IGI Airport via Shivaji Stadium by expanding the Airport Express Line of the Delhi Metro.
The government has asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to conduct a feasibility study on this matter.
Arun Vir Singh, CEO Authority Industrial Development Yamuna Expressway (Yeida) and Nia Ltd, told TOI, “It’s up to them to suggest whether the line should be extended beyond the botanical garden or there will be a different line from the stadium Shivaji to Jiwar.
Ideally, the Airport Express line (connecting the two airports) should have several stops for fast connectivity.
“DMRC recently signed an MoU with Yeida to prepare a project report detailed (DPR) for the corridor Metro Noida-NIA larger and also conducting a feasibility study to expand the express lane airport to Greater Noida to connect the terminal 3 with the IGI airport.
“While the Noida-NIA greater will be approximately 36 km long, part of Greater Noida-Terminal-3 will be a length of 38 km,” said a source.
“The second part is planned as a high-speed corridor on the line that connects the airport express line Shivaji terminal to T3.
Both of these corridors will be from Greater Noida Knowledge Park station 2, which will act as a connecting link between the two parts,” added the source.
The source said, “Noida corridor feasibility study for a larger-Nia has been completed and the Parliament is being made.
For another part connecting Greater Noida and IGI Airport, feasibility studies will be conducted in accordance MoU.”
