Airstrikes kill 15 militants in Afghanistan

KABUL: A total of 15 Taliban militants were killed in air strikes because fighters had been mobilized to control the city of Kunduz, the capital of North Kunduz Province Afghanistan, said a spokesman for a soldier on Monday.
Acting on the tip-off, the fighter from the Afghan government forces targeted the Taliban meeting outside the city of Kunduz on Monday morning, killing 15 rebels in place, Abdul Hadi Nazari spokesman said.
A number of militant arms and ammunition were also destroyed during the raid, the Xinhua news agency reported quoting the spokesman.
Taliban militants, who have arrested five out of nine districts in the surrounded Kunduz province and have tried to occupy the capital city of Kunduz City, has not commented on air strikes.
The battle has increased since the commencement of US LED troops from Afghanistan on May 1 and the Taliban group reportedly arrested more than 100 districts in a torn country.
