Bharti Airtel will soon offer satellite broadband services in India.
Telecom operators have announced joint ventures (JV) with Hughes Communications India Pvt Ltd, (HCIPL) to provide network services based on satellite connectivity in this country.
Under JV, the company will offer a variety of satellite and hybrid network solutions for business and government customers.
This agreement was first announced in May 2019.
It has now received all legal agreements, including those from Tribunal National Law (NCLT) and Telecom Department (Indian government) and joint ventures have been formed.
Operations as HCIPL, this is a subsidiary of the majority of Hughes Network Systems, LLC (Hughes).
These entities combine the very small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) business to offer flexible network network solutions and can be scaled using satellite connectivity for major transportation, reserves, and hybrid implementations.
HCIPL has a combined base of more than 200,000 VSAT and currently serves Airtel VSAT customers.
Claimed as the largest satellite service operator in India, HCIPL provides broadband networks, solutions, and network services, including various managed network services, for government offices and cross-segment companies such as banking, aeronautics and maritime mobility, middle-sized business, education, and backhaul telecommunications , among others.
This is “a good position amid a change in the regulatory environment to serve connectivity requirements that emerge from business customers and the government with an enhanced product portfolio and operational efficiency,” said the company in a press release statement.
