Ajmer: Dargah police ruined two gangs between countries and arrested 11 defendants for cellular theft and recovered 133 cellphone handsets worth Rs 40 lakh from them during the annual Urs Khwaja Moinuddin Chisty.
There are continuous complaints from mobile, gold chains and wallets stealing in the Dargah area during Urs.
The police have formed a special team that damaged the two gangs.
Ajmer SP Vikas Sharma said that thousands of worshipers from India and abroad visited Dargah on an annual occasion of Urs and there were complaints about stealing.
Therefore, premous plainclothes teams in Darigah and CCTV vigilance increased.
This defendant reached Ajmer during Urs and formed a gang.
There are two gangs – one called the West Bengque Howrah gang and the other is Gang Usmanpura Delhi.
The police confiscated 133 cellphones from these accusations and gold chains.
The defendant was identified as Firoz (42), Sheikh Raju (45) and Mohammad agsar from Gang Howrah Bengal Barat.
Likewise, Akil Ali (26), Shahbad (19) Mohammad Safe (19) and Sheikh (20), all residents of Usmanpur from New Delhi.
The police also traced stolen cellphones to find the defendant in the Dargah area.
