Ranchi: The head of the Ajsu Sudesh Mahto party on Thursday criticized the government of Hemant Soren who was constantly delaying the election of Panchayat in the state.
Given the meeting of the party offices and officials on Thursday afternoon, Mahto, Silli Mla, accused the government trying to make the Pancayati system Raj irrelevant to delay.
“It is clear that the government has given a free hand for bureaucrats and does not want to decentralize the government.
Delay in elections has adverse effects on the development at the district level and Panchayat,” Mahto said.
The state government has delayed the election of Panchayat, initially due last year, more than 12 months quoted a Covid-19 pandemic.
More than 4,000 Panchayat bodies at Jharkhand received an extension in their term of office in August this year through regulations brought by the state government.
Mahto also criticized the government for failing to fulfill his poll promises.
“Two years is a long time for the government to be conveyed.
Ajsu will notify the Jharkhand people how many steps have taken this government in the past two years,” Mahto said.
At the meeting, Mahto directed party officials to strengthen their grassroots units for Pancanti elections.
