Lucknow: Armed with Bank of India’s backup data (RBI) which reflects that Uttar Pradesh enrolled one of the lowest per capita income growth during the current BJP regime compared to the national average and a sharp decline from the Samajwadi Party (2013-17), former minister Chairman Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday tore BJP in power because of misleading people with claims providing work, growth and development.
The National President of SP cited the performance of five polls from statistics released by RBI which showed that Uttar Pradesh per capita income growth rate between 2013 and 2017 when the Akhilesh Yadav was five percent compared to the national average of 5.5 percent.
However, during the 2018-20 Financial Year (Pre-Covid) fell to three percent, which constituted 1.6 percent below the national average.
According to the statistics quoted by SP head, the appropriate number for 2018-2022 estimates the disappointing scenario with per capita growth fell to 1.8 percent compared to the national average of 2.7 percent.
“During the BJP regime, per capita income has been reduced to a third.
The mistake of an increase in the price of important commodities and reducing interest rates deposits only worsen the situation.
Now, BJP must explain whether this ‘Achche Din’ (good day) promised by the party before the election,” said Akhilesh.
SP lights up to question BJP government claims regarding work records to young people and poor people.
“Both RBI statistics are calculated wrongly or the state government lying.
The two conflicting claims cannot walk together,” said a senior SP leader.
He said statistics were established outside doubts that the state was on the ‘real’ growth path during the Akhilesh regime.
“Growth is adjacent to the national average which proves that the country’s economy is on the right path,” he said, adding to it now after ruling in the state next year, SP will definitely run extra to encourage growth rates to their place during the previous Akhilesh regime increase it further.
