Nagpur: Akola Municipal Corporation (AMC) has attracted notifications that invite objections from the public to give permission to logging trees to the Indian National Highway Authority (NHAI) for widening the road within the corporate limits.
AMC Pradeep Tree Officer Rajurkar has issued a public notification on September 4, inviting objections to the fall of 199 trees for NHAI.
However, the number 199 allegedly arrived to pass the preservation & protection of the new Maharashtra tree (urban area), in 1975, which the mandate that the proposal that requires logging of trees above 200 must be sent to the state tree.

In the AMC limit there are around 300 trees, permits sought by the NHAI project director.
However, the tree officer issued a notice because of the 199 tree logging, as if he had passed the action.
The notification also mentioned the logging of trees in the stretch of pirur-medshi which was not under the corporate corporate jurisdiction.
Toi has reported this problem on Tuesday, based on green activist Sheikh Mohammed Sheikh Makbul, aka Munna from Akola raised objections.
Complaints were also submitted on Tuesday with the Ministry of State Environment and district collectors.
Taking a serious note about this issue, Commissioner of Kota Nima Arora attracted a notification issued on 4.
September because more than 200 trees involved, now a tree logging proposal will be sent to the state government.
Until now, hundreds of large trees have been cut to widen from Akola-Washim-Hingoli-Nanded NH-161.
