Akshay Kumar is leading from the front when it comes to resuming film shoots.
Right now he’s busy with Aanand L Rai’s ‘Rakshabandhan’ and next on the cards is the shooting schedule of ‘Ram Setu’.
The shoot will begin in September and the new schedules are supposed to be shot on open locations, so the makers of the film want to begin post-monsoon.
There were reports that the makers of the film may be going to Sri Lanka for one of the schedules.
But Sri Lanka’s 15-day mandatory quarantine procedure may prevent them from opting for the island country.
A source said, “It is definitely a challenge for any actor to stay locked up without work in isolation.
Akshay is raring to go, so there is every chance the shooting may take place soon and to avoid quarantine related delays, the film might be shot in cheat locations that could make up for Sri Lanka.”
The last schedule of the film which was to be held in Mumbai had to be cancelled after Akshay Kumar tested positive for Covid-19.
The set had to be dismantled after the second lockdown was announced in April.
The muhurat of the film took place in Ayodhya and had the two leading ladies Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha present on set.
Akshay Kumar had announced ‘Ram Setu’ on Diwali last year, with a first poster reveal on Twitter.
He had captioned the image, “This Deepawali, let us endeavour to keep alive the ideals of Ram in the consciousness of all Bharatiyas by building a bridge(setu) that will connect generations to come.
Taking this mammoth task ahead, here is our humble attempt – #RamSetu Wishing you & yours a very Happy Deepawali!”.
The film is being directed by Abhishek Sharma who has previously made ‘The Zoya Factor’ and ‘Parmanu’.
