SRINAGAR: Two al-Badr terrorists were shot dead by security forces in anti-terror operations in the South Kulgam Kulgam Regency since Monday.
Terrorists who were killed were identified as Imad Muzaffar Wani (21) and Abdul Rashid Thocar (20), police said.
Thoko comes from the Hasanpora Tabela Kulgam area and has been active since December 5, 2021.
Wani, a resident of Arigam in the same district, has also joined terrorist ranking last year.
IGP (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar, in a tweet, identified Wani as “militant category” Al-Badr, added: “He (Wani) was involved in an attack on police personnel Mushtaq Waggay in Pulwama on December 19, 2021, where he (Waggay ) Severe injured.
“Sunday night, the team with police 1RR, J & K and CRPF Army launched the Cordon-and-search operation at Hasanpora Tabela based on intelligence input about two prospective terrorists in the area, a police officer said.
A shootout then broke out between terrorists and search parties, where the Al-Badr Duo was killed, the officer said, added that the meeting ended around 2.05 in the morning.
Two pistols were restored from the killed terrorists.
