Coimbatore: Ganja peddlers are having a field day right below the nose of authorities.
The city authorities arrested several individuals, lots of whom were first-time and youngsters criminals, in the past couple of months for promoting the contraband.
On Tuesday, Peelamedu sub-inspector M Rajkumar and staff detained a nursing grad along with also her boyfriend while they have been trying to sell 2.3kg ganja close Nehru Nagar on Veeriyampalayam Road in Kalapatti.
Police recognized her 21-year-old Vinothini, daughter of Balamurugan of Virudhunagar district.
“She had been staying with M Surya, 21, of Periyar Nagar at a rented home.
Vinothini includes a degree in nursing and Surya is chasing an undergraduate class.
She’d befriended Surya over Instagram a couple of months back.
They turned into ganja peddling to lead a comfortable lifestyle,” a police officer said.
Police captured 2.3kg ganja in the bunch and reserved them under sections (c), 20 (b) (ii) (B ) ) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
The number has been remanded in judicial custody.
On Wednesday, Rathinapuri sub-inspector Dhanabalan and staff detained Pichamani of all Prabhu Nagar, that had been discovered smoking ganja in Kannappa Nagar, and seized 1.2pound of their contraband against him.
Pichamani told authorities he had purchased ganja by someone in Erucompany.

Police captured 21kg ganja along with his bike.
