Guwahati: The Covid case witnessed a worrying surge in Assam on Tuesday because the number of cases of everyday jumped close to 3,000 marks – to 2,837 from 2,198 cases Monday.
The level of participants has also risen more than 1% from 4.49% 5.69% the previous day.
49,840 tests were carried out on Tuesday, which was almost 1,000 more than Monday.
A senior health department official reported two Covid deaths throughout the state in the last 24 hours, which, according to him, showed a lower risk of life in the third wave.
However, the rapid spread in Guwahati has been the greatest concern.
About 8,600 tests were carried out in Kamrup (Metro) on Tuesday, higher than other districts in the state.
“The positive level can fluctuate but the total case rises with an increase in testing,” he added.
With a continuous increase in positive cases, the number of active Covid cases in this country has reached 9,253 on Tuesday night.
The appropriate number is 6,867 days earlier.
On Tuesday, 870 the highest case was detected in Kecatrupup Regency (Metro), where Guwahati City fell, followed by Jorhat (215 cases) and Cachar (189 cases).
Dibrugarh has 170 cases.
“The three districts where the number of higher cases is detected is an important transit route or nerve centers of three parts of different countries.
Greater footsteps will definitely worsen the situation,” the official said.
In Guwahati, the positive level reached 10% on Tuesday.
“Wherever we go to test, new cases are detected.
Government offices, market places, residential areas, everywhere infection have spread,” Ganesh Saikia, Director of Joint Health Services, Kamrup (Metro), told toi on Tuesday.
A total of 4,189 positive cases have been detected in Kamrup (Metro) in the last 10 days.
