LONDON: The fourth seed Alexander Zverev beat America Taylor Fritz 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (4) on Saturday to reach the fourth round of Wimbledon and match his best performance at the Grand Slamcourt Grand Slam.
Germany, which reached 16th round at the All England Club in 2017, maintained a low-delayed mistake and repeatedly tested the 31st seed American service, who underwent surgery less than a month ago after suffering a knee injury in Roland injured in Roland Garros.
After the first set left without a break serving, the 23-year-old Fritz lifted the game in the tie-breaker to lead against Zverev which failed to change two chances of breakpoint.
