LONDON: Former British Batsman Batsman Alex denied on Wednesday there was “every racial connotation” on behalf of his dog after the suspicion by Ex-Yorkshire Cricketer Azeem Rafiq.
Rafiq told the British Parliament Committee on Tuesday that the former Couple Gary Balcing team used ‘Kevin’ as a degrading term and that it had given the dog because the animal was black.
“After hearing the accusation against me, I was firm and truly denied there was a racial connotation in naming my dog,” Hales, who played for Nottinghamshire, said in a statement.
“I fully respect and have a great sympathy for Azeem Rafiq’s attitude to take and what he has to survive.
The proof is terrible.” There is no place for racism or discrimination in cricket and I will be happy to work together.
With any investigation, the authority of the game chooses to hold.
“Nottinghamshire said in a statement that, following testimony Tuesday to the chosen committee, they had” started the appropriate internal process and would continue to connect with Alex and his advisor accordingly.
