Aligning with Ajmal did Not cost Celebration dear, States Assam Congress Leader

GUWAHATI: Although the Congress high command has retained the Ashok Chavan committee study on this’Assam election post-mortem’ a covert, Assam PCC president Ripun Bora on Wednesday refuted allegations that the alliance using Badruddin Ajmal’s AIUDF’d cost the party precious in the nation election.
Rather, Bora blamed fresh regional celebrations, the All Assam Students’ Union-backed AJP along with Akhil Gogoi’s Raijor Dal, to get its reduction in areas mainly occupied by non-Muslims in upper and central Assam.
“In 12 meeting sections, Congress immediately lost due to vote branch involving the AJP and Raijor Dal,” Bora said in an digital interaction with media people.
The BJP and just a part of Congress insiders pointed fingers at the grand old party direction for aligning with the AIUDF.
They believed that the newfound Congress-AIUDF bonhomie had placed the Congress in a uncomfortable position, particularly in upper Assam, in which Ajmal isn’t in favor with native communities.
“If we can block the vote branch between AJP and Raijor Dal, the Congress could have obtained another 15 chairs,” Bora said.
The resistance tally at the Assam meeting is 50 and moving from Bora’s calculations that the AJP and Raijor Dal averted the Congress-led resistance from touching the magical figure of 64 in this election.
He said cases of Barhampur, Amguri and Jorhat chairs, stating there wasn’t any’polarization effect’ in those non-Muslim bulk chairs for aligning with the AIUDF.
Bora stated in lower Assam and also Barak Valley, the survey result had been by and large over the expectations.
The AIUDF has impacts in those two important zones in which Muslim levels play a deciding role.
Congress leaders believe they gained in both of these zones due to the survey pact with all the AIUDF.
“In lesser Assam along with also the Barak Valley we neglected to find a couple more chairs, but also the Congress alliance conducted poorly in upper and northern Assam,” he further added.
Significantly, it had been the upper and northern Assam belt, largely inhabited by native communities and tribes, in which AJP along with Raijor Dal had set all-out efforts to acquire the confidence of the natives.
Assam Congress will soon receive a new president however Bora reiterated he was true in his obligation.
“If the celebration wins, lots of individuals return to take the credit.
However, if the celebration loses, all attribute is dependent upon a single individual,” he explained.
Senior leaders such as Pradyut Bordoloi or even Bhupen Bora can get chosen for the work of the brand new Assam PCC primary.
Bora’s tenure as Assam Congress leader has ended.
But party insiders said that the greatest challenge ahead is to block the resurrection of factional struggles inside the celebration.
“The listing of aspirants who wish to be the following Assam PCC main is lengthy.
Throughout the very first beginning of the BJP government in Assam, Congress was largely riddled with factional struggles.
The party high command is going to need to mention a hasty decision this time since the next Lok Sabha election isn’t far off, but” that a Congress supply added.
