Alignment of 4 main highway projects get a nod

Patna: Bihar will soon have two national highways four Greenfield lines from Mokama to Munger and Buxar to Varanasi through Chausa.
The 40 km long ring road around the city of Muzaffarpur will also be built to relieve traffic congestion.
CM Nith Kumar on Wednesday approved the harmony of four major highway projects after reviewing the presentation carried out by the Road Construction Department (RCD), Head of the Additional Secretary of Amrit Lal Meena.

These projects include the construction of the Greenfield Four Line Highway from Mokama to Munger, the construction of the Greenfield Line Four Highway from Buxar to Varanasi through Chausa, four Lanings from the existing Bari-Muzaffarpur National Highway including the construction of a 40 km long ring.

“The number of around RS 10,000 Crore will be spent on the construction of four projects,” Meena said to TI on Wednesday.
He said as the partiality of the four projects was approved by CM, the department would now complete a detailed project report (DRP).
Meena said the Mokama-Munger Greenfield highway would be 92 km long.
It also includes a long 20 km link from Sarmera to Manoharpur.
Greenfield Highway will cross through Manoharpur and south of the city of LakhiSarai.
Meena further said the land required for the highway four mokama-munger lines are available, while the government will begin land acquisition exercises for three other projects.
Providing details about the Ring-Road Muzaffarpur project, Meena said all national highways that entered the city of Muzaffarpur will now be connected through the proposed ring road.

At the meeting, Nitish also provided a nod to the RCD proposal to send recommendations to the Government Government to the inclusion of the construction of seven new lajur highways under Bharatmala- phase 2.

After reviewing new road projects, Nitish said the highway project that had been prepared to strengthen the infrastructure of the road further in Bihar, was superior.
Cm then request RCD officials to ensure the maintenance of existing roads while building a new highway and four pathways.
Minister of RCD Nitin Navin, Chief Secretary of Tripurari Sharan and Development Commissioner Amir Subhani also attended the meeting.
