This scheme has been designed to cover all the personnel who serve and their dependents from seven Central Armed Police forces (CAPF) under the Ministry of Home Affairs – Assam rifles, border security forces, Central Industrial Security Forces, the power of the central reserve police, Indo-Tibet border, Indo-Tibetan Police Border, National Security Guard and Sashastra Seema Bal.
The distribution of around 35 lakh cards will be completed next month.
The interior minister has launched this scheme based on pilots in Assam this January to provide health care services to all of their CAPF and dependent personnel.
