PALGHAR: The Palghar district government on Tuesday led officials to alarm residents of cities situated close to the Kurze dam because its water level was rising quickly because of heavy rains within Maharashtra.
The district crisis management mobile CEO Dr Kiran Mahajan, at a formal communication into tehsildars (sales officers) of Dahanu and Talasari, said that water has been becoming filled up quickly at the dam situated in Dapchari because of heavy downpour in the region.
At present, the dam is filled around 65.63 metres and after the water level reaches 67 metres, and its three gates will be opened that could result in heavy flood in the surrounding regions, the officer said.
Therefore, Mahajan requested tehsildars of both talukas to alarm residents of cities found in the area.
