Guwahati: All board of ideals of inspiration, who get priority in vaccination groups aged 15 to 18 years, have been inoculated in Guwahati because the deadline for the vaccination of children ends on Sunday.
However, finding dropout has emerged as a big problem, which has led the State Health Department to extend the deadline in the end until the Magh Bihu in the middle.
Assessment by TOI revealed that 60 to 90% of school children in the specified age group can be vaccinated in various districts in the past week, which according to the Minister of Health Mahanta previously was a time frame determined to vaccinate adolescents.
“There is a target of vaccination of 20.37 lakh children in the age group 15 to 18 years in Assam and of them, around 9 lakh has been inoculated until now,” Covid-19 vaccination nodal officers, Munindra Nath Nathy, told TOI on Monday afternoon.
He said especially in a larger district, the vaccination team had not reached several schools.
Ngatey said more than 32,000 children were vaccinated on Monday and efforts to achieve the goal of vaccinating all children who qualified in the age group 15-18 years by Magh Bubu.
