Coimbatore: Director of the Collegiate Education Regional Education, Coimbatore, UGI on Tuesday issued orders to all government, assisted and self-financing in the district to send their teaching and non-teaching staff on mandatory leave if they were not fully vaccinated from September 1.
The order follows the direction issued by the district collector on Monday to educational institutions to enable their staff, which has taken a vaccine dose of Covid-19, to continue the work from September 1.
According to the relaxation of the state government, all schools and colleges can continue the offline class rotation from September 1.
While the school will allow students from class IX to XII, all students except the first year will report to class.
The order from Uli comes as a surprise for many college staff, who have not received their second dose.
Staff from self-financing colleges called ‘hard’ decisions and stated that they had faced salary cuts.
Speaking to Toi, Uli said that the order was just a reflection of the direction of the collector during the meeting on Monday.
The collector clearly mentions that colleges and schools must ensure that staff are fully vaccinated before coming to the institution.
He further added that those who had not received the second dose of Covid -19 vaccines they could take advantage of the vaccination camp to be held in educational institutions on August 29 and 30 as planned by the district administration.
For this, some teachers argue that not all maturity for the second dose on the specified date.
S prema, a professor assistant from private art and science, said, “I have to be my second dose only in the second week of September.
Therefore, drives of vaccination specifically in educational institutions must relax the duration between two doses for staff,” he said.
