New Delhi: Head of Punjab Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Wednesday said all fired punjab police against farmers, who protested central agricultural law within the boundaries, will be canceled.
He also promised farmers that the old propeller cases would fall.
The announcement came for hours after Channi held a meeting with the Delegation of Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), who had pioneered protests against three contract laws.

At a press conference, Channi said the latest cases against farmers to burn arrears would be “considered sympathetic” to protect the interests of the agricultural community.
However, he appealed to farmers to refrain from practice.
Channi’s statement came amid the increase in the incidence of burning stumps with punjab which recorded more than 69,000 incidents like this.
Birds are banned but many farmers continue to ignore it.
Delhi and Haryana have taken several emergency steps including school closure (in four districts in Haryana) and a prohibition of construction work to curb air pollution.
Punjab CM also announced his government’s decision to increase compensation for the loss of cotton plants to Rs 17,000 per hectare from Rs 12,000 per hectare.
Referring to the request to release extraordinary agricultural loans, Channi said he would hold a separate meeting with farmers after a detailed deliberation with the State Ministry of Finance.
