Noida: Children will soon play outside games such as cricket, football and volleyball in the park sector.
Noida authorities have decided to develop a park for children in every residential sector to encourage them to play outside.
For this, the meeting with the RWA sector will be held next week and suggestions will be invited, officials said.
The horticulture department will develop these parks, which will have a cricket pitch, basketball court, and trail of cycling and running.
In the absence of a play area for children, residents have long demanded the outer playroom dedicated to children, especially those who are older.
“Given the requirements, the CEO of Ritu Maheshwari has approved the development of one park for each city housing sector,” said Indu Prakash, OSD to Noida authority.
The park will be developed in coordination with the RWA sector because they know the requirements of their sector.
“We will send letters to all RWA next week inviting suggestions, including identifying land or areas in their sectors, which can be developed into a larger garden for children.
After their response, we will send details to the CEO for approval,” said Prakash.
According to officials, the park will have a central grass area with plants on the edge, cricket pitch or soil for football, along with road tracks and the required cycles.
“Even the basketball court, volleyball or badminton field can be developed depending on available space.
All these details will be completed after we compile a list of parks for larger children,” OSD added.
While large parks may have more facilities, the aim is to provide space for older children for their growth and physical activity.
And children have praised authority initiatives.
“I welcome this step as soon as we will get our own place in the neighborhood,” said Mohit Kumar, a resident of sector 62.
