New Delhi: The entire state of Nagaland has been declared as a “disturbed area” for six months, until December-end, under the Act of Armed Forces (special power) that empowers security forces to carry out operations anywhere and capture anyone ensure.

AFSPA has applies in Nagaland for decades.

The framework agreement occurred after more than 80 rounds of negotiations covering 18 years with the first breakthrough in 1997 when the ceasefire agreement was sealed after decades of rebellion in Nagaland.
However, there has been no progress in peace talks because NSCN-IM has searched for a separate flag and constitution for Nagaland, which was rejected by the central government.
