Hyderabad: The Communist Party of the India (CPI) has demanded that Chairman K Chandraskhar Rao will meet with irrigation experts and members of all political parties to take advice for the protection of the interests of the Telangana State in sharing the Krishna River water with Andhra Pradesh.
In a letter to CM KCR on Friday, the State President of CPI Chada Venkat Reddy said the dispute shared the Krishna River water between the two countries the Telugu deteriorated.
Telangana can take advantage of the legitimate part of Krishna’s river water, especially through the elevator irrigation project but the Andhra Pradesh government is increasing objections.
The Andhra government has also written to the center to issue instructions to the Telangana government to stop Hydel power plants at the Srisailam reservoir.
“Given the importance of the subject, meetings with experts and representatives of political parties became very important to come out with peaceful solutions and ensure Telangana did not lose a drop of a legitimate part of the river water,” Chada Venkat Reddy said.
