All water samples failed a purity test, Chander Nagar residents move the rights panel

Ludhiana: Residents of Nagar Chander are in the arms of the city’s corporation because of their failure to provide them clean drinking water.
Recently, they got a sample of water from their area tested.
The report, received on July 30, showed all samples failed the purity test.
Through Mahanar NGOs Sathi Jagriti MANSH, residents, on Tuesday, complained to the Punjab state human rights commission and MC commissioner.
They said, “MC must provide clean drinking water when collecting service costs.
Because the area is around the Buddha Nolah, the water is contaminated.” The sample was taken from the house of the Rawal and Mukesh Kumar, the government elementary school and the handsloom shop.
It was sent to Pau to test with the help of the district health department.
The results showed excessive e coli in two samples.
Residents and activists of Keemti Rawal said, “Samples were collected from four different locations and all failed.
That is, we are supplying contaminated water.
We suffer from various diseases.
Because the area is near the Buddha Nullah, hazardous chemicals such as uranium, nickel, among others , can pollute ground water.
We have taken problems with the Punjab State Human Rights Commission and the Officials concerned.
“Other resident Sunil Bhanot said,” Ground water from all areas near Buddha Nullah is of poor quality.
The impact is now seen in public health.
Civic’s body must improve water quality by reducing the level of pollution in the Buddha Nullah.
“MC operation and maintenance of SDO Anshu Garcha said,” I do not know the samples collected from Chander Nagar.
If the sample experiences a failed purity test, there can be several reasons.
Specifications differently for sampling.
We will get a sample that is tested again.
“According to the den bro, the area that is at risk of being contaminated with water and a breakdown of the disease transmitted through water, Shivpuri, Brahmpuri, Sardar Nagar, Salem Tabri, Jalandhar Bypass, Kartar Nagar, Daulat Colony, New Kundanpuri, Chander Nagar, Gopal Nagar, Nagar Deep New, Pavitar Nagar , Vivek Nagar, Joshi Nagar, Jawahar Nagar Camp, Labor Colony, Jawaddi Kalan, Dr.
Ambedkar Nagar, Manohar Nagar, Choti Jawaddi, Punjabi Bagh, Madhopuri, Delhari, Colony, Delhari, Giaspura, among others.
The MC water testing laboratory closed MC has established its own lab for routine testing water samples about five years ago.
But since last year, the laboratory lay because the financial committee and contract failed to make decisions about the resolution to buy testing materials and employ lab technicians.
It seems that ordinary water sampling is not a priority in the civil body.
The city receives water through tubewellswater supplied through TubeWell throughout the city.
People who live in the area around the Buddha Nullah are skeptical about their quality.
However, MC officials denied Buddha Nolah as a reason for water contamination.
They prefer to claim that during the rainy season, it is possible to increase water contamination.
In the past, some incidents had occurred where the diseases were transmitted through water spread in the monsoon.
Only 2 of 80 Fitfor Samples Prepare Projects for Canal Based Water Supply in the City, MC has 80 water samples, collected from all industrial hubs, tested in 2020.
Of these, 29 found not feasible for consumption, 20 shows a high level of nitrate, Nine had selenium beyond the limit of 0.1%, and 20 had nitrate between 80mg and 95mg against the limit of 45 mg.
Only two samples are suitable for drinking
