Gurugram: When Ramachandran, 1994-batch batch IPS officer, has been named the police commissioner of Gurugram, the first woman appointed to post.
Ramachandran, who has a long task with the intelligence agency and named Secretary of Transportation – Post Cadre IAS – on September 2021, is expected to be responsible on Tuesday.
Ramachandran was the second IPS officer from the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) to become Gurugram police chief.
The first is Mohammad Akil (February 2019 to July 2020), which is now the Director General, prison.
The rules mandated that the Turugram Police officer, formed in 2007, must be led by IG (Inspector-General) ranking or above officers.
Ramachandran married the Senior IPS Officer Navdeep Singh Vird, who is also a former police commissioner of Gurugram.

VIJ refused to relieve Ramachandran his duty to take over the cost and had asked questions for the appointment cleaned by the CM office.
Vij also objected to the appointment of IPS officers Shatrujeet Kapoor, the predecessor of Ramachandran, as Secretary of Transportation but CM won.
Ramachandran replaced KK Rao, who served as Gurugram police chief twice.
Rao was first appointed as police chief in the city of NCR in June 2018 and shifted after eight months.
He was brought back in June 2020.
Ramachandran’s appointment was part of a major overhaul where 15 IPS officers were shifted.
Rao has been transferred to the Bhondsi police campus.
Mamta Singh, who is the line of IG Karnal has been moved as the range of IG Rohtak while Lokender Singh was transferred as SP Hisar (he was from SP Kaital).
Maqsood Ahmad, which was posted as Gurugram DCP (East), was appointed with SP Kaital.
Virender Kumar is named the new DCP (East) Gurugram.
