Allahabad HC to examine state funds to religious education institutions

Prasagraj: Allahabad High Court has decided to consider whether state funds to madrasas and other religious education institutions are consistent with the secular scheme of the Constitution.
It will also consider several other questions related to the institution.
Asking the state government to submit an answer within four weeks, justice Ajay Bhanot directs that the state government must explain this problem and other aspects.
The next court will hear the case on October 6, 2021, when it will also consider whether the government’s funding of the institution run by a religious minority faithfully implemented the constitutional protection provided to all religious religions, especially religious minorities, with reference to the provisions of the constitution.
It will also consider whether the institution provides knowledge in various fields and also includes courses in theological learning to come in the ambitious phrase “religious instruction or religious worship” or only schools that exclusively provide religious education in Article 28 of the Constitution.
The court will consider whether the minority of other religions is given government assistance to run theological schools.
The court heard the writing petition submitted by C / M Madarssa Anjuman Islamia Faizul Uloo.
“Next, it will also be disclosed whether the madrasa also recognizes female students,” said the court.
