Hyderabad: Minister of Administration Municipal Telangana KT Rama Rao has urged Minister of Finance Minister Nirmala to allocate around ₹ 7,000 Crore to the Telangana Government in the upcoming Union budget for the financial year 2022-2023 by means of funding or contributions.
He asked financial assistance from the center for various projects under the city administration and urban development departments such as the expansion of metro train connectivity in the city, the construction of the flyover, an increase in the crossing, strategic road development program (SRDP), connecting the eastern and western part of Hyderabad, and construction Sewerage processing plant.
In a letter to the UNI Finance Minister on Thursday, KTR was looking for funds for the six-lane corridor from Paradise Junction (at Gymkhana Grounds) to Orr Junction near Shamirpet (V) in Rajiv Rahadari and Corridor End Lance from Paradise Junction to Orr Junction near Kandlakoya .
While the project costs around ₹ 9,000 crore do not include land costs, he said, the land of defense for the corridor that was elevated was waiting with the UNI Ministry of Defense.
As the center allocated large funds for Metro Bangalore in the previous budget, the minister was seeking financial assistance for the Metro Rail project.
“The state government suggests the expansion of the Metro network along the KPHB-Kokapet and Narsingi corridors.
While the initial estimate of the Mass Fast Transit System (MRT) is ₹ 3,050 Crore, the center is asked to provide sanctions 15% of the cost of the IE project ₹ 450 Crore,” KTR said .
He said the proposed corridor would be 30 km with the expected passengers from five lakhs in 2030 and will have connectivity with the expression of the airport proposed in Narsingi and with the Metro network in the financial district, the Minister said.
He also asked funds for the Warangal Metro-Neo project for around ₹ 184 Crores.
